About

Nico Hansford is a white nonbinary artist and filmmaker. They grew up in Los Angeles county before moving to Baltimore to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art. At MICA they studied illustration, where their work appeared in the Seance and Identity exhibitions before transferring to the Film & Video department in sophomore year. Their work largely deals with their experiences with cancer, trauma, and queerness.
Their narrative film work centers around character studies and intimate relationship dynamics. Their video art work centers on spoken word, collage, and integrating casual special effects.
