Nico Hansford is a white nonbinary artist and filmmaker. They grew up in Los Angeles county before moving to Baltimore to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art. At MICA they studied illustration, where their work appeared in the Seance and Identity exhibitions before transferring to the Film & Video department in sophomore year. Their work largely deals with their experiences with cancer, trauma, and queerness.
Outside of filmmaking, Nico explores their love of art through different mediums. Such as watercolor painting, embroidery, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. In their spare time they listen to podcasts, volunteer, and cuddle with their cat Apollo.
